Hamilton Pool Preserve
Guided Hikes Suspended
The Saturday morning guided hikes at Hamilton Pool Preserve are suspended until further notice.
Trail Under Overhanging Cliff Closed
The section of trail that goes underneath the overhanging cliff at the pool is closed for safety concerns. Visitors can access the beach, but cannot walk all the way around the pool to below the waterfall. Rocks have been falling from the cliffs above the trail. We continue to consult with geologists about this hazard.
Summer Heat - Be Prepared
Visitors to Hamilton Pool Preserve should come prepared for high temperatures and strenuous hiking. Bring plenty of drinking water. Expect a quarter of a mile hike from the parking lot to the pool. The trail is rocky, narrow, and steep with lots of steps. You will return to the parking lot via the same trail. Please plan your visit accordingly.

Reservations are required every day of the week to visit Hamilton Pool Preserve. Please make your reservation online before arriving at the preserve. Visitors cannot remain in the preserve after their reservation period ends. Please arrive at least an hour before your reservation period ends to give yourself time to enjoy the preserve. No entry allowed after the reservation time period is past.
Now Accepting Reservations Through February 2024
You can now make Hamilton Pool Preserve reservations online for dates through February 2024. Reservations for dates in March 2024 and beyond are not available yet. Swimming is not guaranteed with your reservation. The trail underneath the overhanging cliff that leads to the bottom of the waterfall is closed. See alert message above titled "Trail Under Overhanging Cliff Closed."
Water Access - Currently Allowed
Hamilton Pool Preserve visitors are currently allowed to get into the water from the beach. Only a very limited portion of the pool is available for water access due to the problem of falling rocks. As always, whether swimming will be allowed depends on factors beyond our control, such as bacteria levels and recent rain. Water access is never guaranteed with a reservation. Even when swimming is not allowed the preserve is open for hiking and reservations are still required.

Killingsworth Ln Entrance
The secondary entrance to Northeast Metro located on Killingsworth Ln (accessed from Wells Branch Pkwy) is only open on weekends and holidays. It is not meant as a public road to be used for daily commutes.
Soccer Playground Closed
The playground next to soccer fields 1-10 is temporarily closed until the safety surfacing is repaired.
Splash Pad Closed

We are excited by this prestigious honor, given to parks with dark skies and responsible outdoor lighting, as well as a commitment to preserving dark skies around the world.

The mountain bike trails at Milton Reimers Ranch Park are open. They sometimes close after rain.
Road To Beach Now Open 7 Days a Week
The road to the beach at Milton Reimers Ranch Park is now open 7 days a week for dropping off people and supplies. No parking on bearch level allowed. We expect to close it in late spring 2024 on busy swimming weekends and holidays for public safety reasons.
