Phase II of the master-planned Arkansas Bend Park development is currently in construction and set to be complete in 2023. Improvements include adding 20 improved campsites, 18 cabins, and an extension to one of our boat ramps.
Park Event June 3, 2023
The Travis County Parks Foundation will be holding a free family event on Saturday, June 3, 2023 from noon to 4pm at Richard Moya Park. Come enjoy the festivities! Live music and free events for the whole family. The park will still be open but expect some delays during the event for parking.

Bob Wentz Park Capacity
Bob Wentz Park experiences large crowds during holiday weekends. When the park reaches capacity, it will close to all vehicular and pedestrian entry. Visitors traveling to the park should be aware of potential closure.

The area of the park accessed from FM2769 is closed due to hazards. The other part of the park accessed from Bullick Hollow is open.

East Metro Park
2023 Prescribed Burns
Travis County Parks plans to conduct multiple prescribed burns at East Metropolitan Park sometime between January 10, 2023 and April 15, 2023. We do not know the exact date because the project are weather dependent. The projects are being implemented to improve the health of the park ecosystem and reduce wildfire hazards. There are two projects planned on the park and two additional projects planned on adjacent Travis County Properties. Each project is between 5 and 10 acres and will be completed in a day. Additional information will be provided as the projects get closer to implementation.
Hamilton Pool Preserve
Guided Hikes Suspended
The Saturday morning guided hikes at Hamilton Pool Preserve are suspended until further notice.
Trail Under Overhanging Cliff Closed
The section of trail that goes underneath the overhanging cliff at the pool is closed for safety concerns. Visitors can access the beach, but cannot walk all the way around the pool to below the waterfall. Rocks have been falling from the cliffs above the trail. We continue to consult with geologists about this hazard.

Water Access - Currently Not Allowed
Hamilton Pool Preserve visitors are currently not allowed to get into the water due to recent rains and high bacteria levels. The preserve is currently open for hiking and reservations are still required. The earliest swimming might be allowed is Friday, June 9. When we do allow swimming only a very limited portion of the pool is available for water access due to the continuing problem of falling rocks. As always, whether swimming will be allowed depends on factors beyond our control, such as bacteria levels and recent rain. Water access is never guaranteed with a reservation. Visitors with reservations have until midnight before their reservations to go online to reschedule.
Reservations Needed Every Day of the Week
Reservations are required every day of the week to visit Hamilton Pool Preserve. Please make your reservation online before arriving at the preserve. Visitors cannot remain in the preserve after their reservation period ends. Please arrive at least an hour before your reservation period ends to give yourself time to enjoy the preserve. No entry allowed after the reservation time period is past.
Now Accepting Reservations Through October 2023
You can now make Hamilton Pool Preserve reservations online for dates through October 2023. Reservations for dates in November 2023 and beyond are not available yet. Swimming is not guaranteed with your reservation. The trail underneath the overhanging cliff that leads to the bottom of the waterfall is closed. See alert message above titled "Trail Under Overhanging Cliff Closed."
Hippie Hollow Park
Hippie Hollow and Annual or Lifetime Senior Permits
Starting March 1, 2020, Hippie Hollow will no longer sell or accept any Annual or Lifetime Senior Permits. Senior sticker permits will no longer waive entry fees at Hippie Hollow.

Loop 360 Boat Ramp
Loop 360 Boat Ramp-Day Use Closed
The Loop 360 Boat Ramp is open for watercraft launching and boating only. Day use activities such as picnicking, grilling, swimming, and shoreline fishing are prohibited due to safety issues.

Mansfield Dam Park
Limited Operations
We are still working on repairs resulting from the recent freezing weather. The park may not have access to restrooms or potable water while repairs are completed.

Northeast Metropolitan Park
Killingsworth Ln Entrance
The secondary entrance to Northeast Metro located on Killingsworth Ln (accessed from Wells Branch Pkwy) is only open on weekends and holidays. It is not meant as a public road to be used for daily commutes.
Splashpad Closed
The splash pad is closed due to a water leak on 9/26/22. Updates will be posted when work is completed.
Pace Bend Park
DUMP STATION CLOSED
The Dump Station at Pace Bend Park is closed for repairs. At this time we do not know when the dump station will re-open.

On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, Reimers Ranch Park was proclaimed to be an International Dark Sky Park by the International Dark Sky Association. We are excited by this prestigious honor, given to parks with dark skies and responsible outdoor lighting, as well as a commitment to preserving dark skies around the world.
Reimers Observatory Resumes Regular Programs
Reimers Observatory has resumed regular ppublic programs. We offer several public programs per month. Reservations are required. We typically post a new program about 1 to 2 weeks in advance. The programs usually fill up a day or two after they are posted on this web page. See the Reservations Section of this web page. Once a program fills up it will no longer be shown.

Summer 2023: Road to Beach Closed To Vehicles on Weekends and Holidays
Beginning Saturday, May 27, the road to the river shoreline in Reimers Ranch Park will be closed to vehicles on all summer weekends and holidays. Visitors will not be able to drop off people and supplies at the beach. The road will be open on weekdays that are not holidays. Pedestrians will be able to access the shoreline. This policy has been adopted to promote public safety. We will open the road 7 days a week after the busy swimming season.

The mountain bike trails at Milton Reimers Ranch Park are open. They sometimes close after rain.
Richard Moya Park
East Parking lot entrance closed
The eastern entrance to the small parking lot will be closed from Friday June 2 and will reopen by Tuesday June 6.
