Water Hazard
Due to overgrowth of the invasive plant hydrilla at the non-motorized boat launch at Bob Wentz Park, visitors are advised to take extreme caution. Swimmers, pets, and windsurfers may become entangled in these plants, increasing the risk of drowning or injury. Other shoreline areas are free from hydrilla and should be visited in preference to the non-motorized boat launch.

Pool Opened
Sunday, August 3, 2025 the pool will close at 6pm to facilitate staff training. After Sunday, August 10, 2025 the pool will only be open weekends. It will be open on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2025 as the final day for the season. Please refer to the YMCA website for additional information.

Hamilton Pool Preserve
Guided Hikes Suspended
The Saturday morning guided hikes at Hamilton Pool Preserve are suspended until further notice.
Trail Under Overhanging Cliff Closed
The section of trail that goes underneath the overhanging cliff at the pool is closed for safety concerns. Visitors can access the beach, but cannot walk all the way around the pool to below the waterfall. Rocks have been falling from the cliffs above the trail. We continue to consult with geologists about this hazard.
Reschedule Your Reservation - Midnight Deadline
Visitors who wish to reschedule their reservations should go online to do so. The deadline to reschedule a reservation is midnight before the reservation. Click the Hamilton Pool Frequently Asked Questions link on this web page for detailed instructions.
Reservations Needed Every Day of the Week
Reservations are required every day of the week to visit Hamilton Pool Preserve. Please make your reservation online before arriving at the preserve. Visitors cannot remain in the preserve after their reservation period ends. Please arrive at least an hour before your reservation period ends to give yourself time to enjoy the preserve. No entry allowed after the reservation time period is past.

Swimming Status
We are currently allowing swimming at Hamilton Pool Preserve. The water is very cold. Remember there is no lifeguard on duty. Swim at your own risk.
Now Accepting Reservations Through December 2025
You can now make Hamilton Pool Preserve reservations online for dates through December 2025. Reservations for dates in January 2026 and beyond are not available yet. Swimming is not guaranteed with your reservation. The trail underneath the overhanging cliff that leads to the bottom of the waterfall is closed. See alert message above titled "Trail Under Overhanging Cliff Closed."

Loop 360 Boat Ramp

Parking
Due to TXDOT construction, parking at the Loop 360 Boat Ramp is limited to the 10 boat trailer spaces within the park. Visitors meeting friends or chartering a boat are encouraged to use rideshare services.
Loop 360 Boat Ramp-Day Use Closed
The Loop 360 Boat Ramp is open for watercraft launching and boating only. Day use activities such as picnicking, grilling, swimming, and shoreline fishing are prohibited due to safety issues.

Killingsworth Ln Entrance
The secondary entrance to Northeast Metro located on Killingsworth Ln (accessed from Wells Branch Pkwy) is only open on weekends and holidays. It is not meant as a public road to be used for daily commutes.

Collier and Tatum boat ramps are open, please be cautious of debris lingering in the area. Tournament Point boat ramp is underwater and not accessible. Shoreline launching is not permitted.

November Programs Are Fully Booked
All of our Reimers Observatory programs in November are fully booked. Some programs might reopen if cancellations occur. We will be offering more programs in December. We offer about 8 to 11 programs per month, all year long. We post programs 1 to 3 weeks in advance. All programs fill up, usually after just a few days. You make reservations by scrolling down to the Reservations section and seeing if any programs are displayed. When a program fills up, it is no longer displayed.

Reimers Observatory Public Programs
Reimers Observatory offers several public programs per month. Reservations are required. We typically post a new program about one to three weeks in advance. We avoid scheduling public programs within a few days of the Full Moon. The programs always fill up, often only few days after they are posted on this web page. See the Reservations Section of this web page. Once a program fills up it will no longer be displayed on this web page.
Reimers Ranch Park
PUBLIC NOTICE FOR HORSE OWNERS: Equine Herpesvirus (EHV) Outbreak Precautions
Due to the recent outbreak of Equine Herpes, Reimers Ranch is implementing precautionary measures to protect the health of horses within our park and the broader equine community. Visitors are strongly discouraged from bringing horses to the park at this time. We want to limit horse-to-horse contact. Access to communal water tanks and troughs will be closed to prevent indirect transmission of the virus through shared equipment. Visitors bringing horses to the park must bring their own water and individual buckets.

Reservations Not Taken at Reimers Ranch Park
Reimers Ranch Park does not take reservations. We are first come, first served. We are a large park and do not expect to fill up or reach capacity.
Road To Beach Now Open 7 Days a Week
The road to the beach at Milton Reimers Ranch Park is now open 7 days a week for dropping off people and supplies. No parking on beach level allowed. We expect to close it in late spring 2026 on busy swimming weekends and holidays for public safety reasons.
Mountain Biking Trails Status
The mountain bike trails at Milton Reimers Ranch Park are open. They sometimes close after rain. .

Starflight Training Exercises
Travis County Starflight emergency helicopter will be conducting training exercises with TC Park Rangers in the park on Monday, October 6, 2025 midday. This training will help coordinated medical response in the parks and provide skills training for first responders. There may be some disruption to park activities.
